my name is Jill Katze and lastwing is my creative imprint, my one-woman doujin circle, my "brand". the purpose of this site is to catalog stuff i make in one place and serve as a landing point for my online presence.

i'm a creative person with a broad set of interests and hobbies. if you can do it with a computer or piece of electronic equipment, i've probably either tried it or at least read about it. game development, digital art, video editing, VFX, twitch streaming, music, 3D modeling, 3D printing — i've done it all and i'm always looking for the next fun thing to do or an excuse to further develop my existing skills.

as of October 2024, i'm currently deep into the development of Petal Crash 2 as its lead developer, working alongside the creator and director, Ashley Jenkins. please look forward to it!

you ever think about how cool a one-winged angel is? and i don't just mean Sephiroth. angelic images, and in particular references to dark or one-winged angels, were somewhat common in stuff that i was into in the late 90s/early 2000s. "lastwing" comes from a place of embracing those chuuni vibes. the words themselves are an oblique references to the lyrics of Endless Sorrow by Ayumi Hamasaki, but i was also thinking about Kuroi Tsubasa by The Brilliant Green when i chose this name and the imagery of an angel with a single black wing.
